Getting SH!T Done when faced with a pandemic, demands at work, caring for mom and social injustice.

SH!T I get done

Employee Benefits and wellbeing

Professionally, I lead a diverse team of benefits professionals to care for employees at large corporate companies, implementing our benefits philosophy to harmonize the benefits experience across business lines, to communicate value for employees and to provide increased oversight and analytics that facilitate business decisions.

Perhaps my greatest strength is my management style: I don’t simply delegate—I empower others to do more (they get SH!T done, too!). As a creative thinker and skilled artist with years of quantitative experience as an actuarial consultant, I excel at making complex ideas clear and concrete. When teaching my team how to communicate effectively, I emphasize clarity, empathy, and friendliness. Above all, I train them to always keep the intention of having the best interests of our employees and the company top of mind.

feeding children in uganda

Outside the office, I spend my time championing causes close to my heart. I am honored to have helped found and currently serve on the Board of Directors for Lend a Hand Uganda USA (LAHU-USA), a nonprofit dedicated to improving the lives of children in Uganda. The teams have impacted hundreds of students and thousands of family members.

Having asked for help, we have formed two teams - one in NYC primarily responsible for fundraising and the team on the ground in Uganda who are our eyes and ears implementing the projects.

We feed children lunch as the incentive to come to school and have the energy to sustain themselves throughout the day. If not for us, these children would eat one meal each day. We believe that education is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty these families are currently trapped in.

Making cakes for my nieces and nephews

Amy Noelle Llama Cake.jpg

THIS is the famous “no probllama” cake (read the book to fully understand!).

I have seven nieces and nephews. Two are adults now and (gasp!) have said they do not want more cake. The other five are happy “clients” who come up with crazy cake ideas. My Instagram will occasionally feature a cake or two.

Networking

As President of the BNI's largest chapter in Manhattan, I have the privilege of leading a meeting of 100+ entrepreneurs each and every week.  Professionals from varied backgrounds contribute to one another by sharing ideas and strengthening their networks.  We have even passed over $10M to each other in each of the last three years including one of those years being during a pandemic.

It's a serious networking group, but I eschew some of the rigor while maintaining much needed structure.  The playfulness of my personality weaves itself into each session, warmly welcoming visitors and members to foster an environment in which they can comfortably pass referrals and make connections leading to closed business.

Interested in finding out more?  You've gotta witness this spectacle for yourself!! We meet now on zoom, so you can attend from anywhere.
